Dear Amber Flag Co-ordinator,
We are delighted to let you know that you have been awarded the Amber Flag for 2021!
We would like to thank you and your Amber Flag Committee for continuing to promote positive mental health this year despite all the barriers you had to face. By achieving the Amber Flag this year, it really is a testament to the importance you have placed on mental health and well-being. We hope that you can look back on your achievements throughout the year and be grateful of the time you spent together and the goals you've accomplished!
Attached are Mental Health Hero Certificates that you are welcome to print off and distribute to your Amber Flag Committee, if you wish. We have sent out the school certificate and flag yesterday so you will hopefully receive those today or tomorrow!
If you would like to renew your flag next year, we will be taking registrations from September 2021. The renewal form will be on the Pieta website and you are very welcome to download this, fill it in and email it on to us at this address: amberflag@pieta.ie
Again, well done to all of you! We hope that you are proud of all your accomplishments over the past year. We really appreciate all the hard work involved!

The Amber Flag
We are very excited to be taking part in the challenge of obtaining the Amber Flag this year.
The Pieta House Amber Flag initiative recognises the individual efforts of schools, companies and groups to create healthy, inclusive environments that support mental well-being and positive mental health. For more information on the fantastic work Pieta are involved in, visit; www.pieta.ie
Positive Mental Health aims to:
Promote mental health and well-being for all.
Prevent mental health problems through increasing awareness, social
support, reducing risk factors such as racism, bullying and isolation.Improving quality of life for students/people with mental health
problems by promoting recovery through awareness and education.
In order to promote positive mental health and well-being at Cornamaddy N.S., we have decided to take part in the Amber Flag Initiative. This involves the whole school community coming together in order to create a safe, positive and healthy attitude towards our general physical and mental health and well-being.
We have appointed an Amber Flag Team. The team have been busy establishing activities and initiatives to help our school promote positive mental health.
